Google today announced the launch of +1, a button to publicly show what you like, agree with, or recommend on the web – similar to what Facebook “Like” does. According to Google, the +1 button is an acronym for “this is pretty cool” or “you should check this out.”

Google’s plan is for the button to show up in search results, on non-Google sites, and in ads. For example, you might see a +1 button for a Google search result, Google ad, or next to an article you’re reading on your favorite news site. Your +1’s and your social connections also help improve the content you see in Google Search.

Google today announced a new app and Chrome browser extension called Chrome to Phone, which enables you to quickly and easily send links, maps, currently selected text, YouTube videos and phone numbers to your Android device running Android 2.2 or later to view on the go?

Installation is a breeze. Go here and install the extension for Chrome. On installation, the app adds a button to your Google Chrome browser. Then you also need to install the Chrome to Phone Android application on your phone. This can be downloaded from the Android Market.

The much awaited multiple Google accounts sign-in feature has now been enabled for Google accounts users. Now you can sign in to more than one of your Google account all from the same browser window for specific products by enabling the multiple sign-in setting, which is disabled by default.

The feature only allow a user to sign in to a maximum of three accounts at a time. The first account that was signed in to will be the default account. On visiting other Google products that don’t support multiple accounts after you’ve signed in, you will automatically sign in to your default account for that product.

Earlier today YouTube announced the beta launch of a TV-like viewing experience named LeanBack. This goes to show that YouTube is not only expanding its reach on mobile devices, but it has its eye on dominating the TV screen and the living room as well.

When you visit the LeanBack site, a full-screen feed, personalized for each viewer begins playing. Using your keyboard’s enter and direction keys you can navigate the feed. No need for the mouse or for entering URLs.
