4 Ways to Save Cash in Internet Marketing1) Know Your Budget

The first thing that every internet marketer should do is be conscious of what their budget allows and doesn’t allow. With all of us feeling the crunch money wise none of us wants to lose any more on marketing than we have to. If you are starting a new campaign(s) make sure you set the limit to something you feel comfortable with that won’t break your personal bank

2) Make your PPC Ads Specific

Getting traffic to a site is as easy as buying AdWords. The problem is that if the leads aren’t really qualified – they are virtually useless and can be quite expensive. When you are creating your ad – try to be as descriptive as you can as far as what the user can expect when they follow the link. If the ad is very general and its not easy to figure out exactly what you will get by clicking on it – some people will click out of curiosity. This costs money = bad. What you want is to have people attracted to your ad and the leads or clicks to be good leads of people you know who have some real interest in the product or service you are offering

3) Use Free Ways to Promote

Article submission is free. Offering advice in forums is free(keep a sig file with your link in it) Google groups is another way to promote. Chat rooms can help prequalify people based on the chatroom name or topic. Digg articles – write your own about your product or service. YouTube videos – easy to make – easy to submit.

4) Do The Math

We’re not all number crunchers but all of us can do the math of deciding when it may or may not be equitable to market on certain keywords. If you have a product that will return $20 in revenue to you if someone buys it, then take that 20 dollars and divide it by 100 giving you 20 cents. This is the number you need to stay under or at while you are testing out a new market. If you are paying 30 cents and have 100 clicks this will cost you $30 dollars. If you are paying $30 to make $20 … well you will have problems ;) Lots of people will tout their product as having extremely great conversion rates – to date I have found none that share the same conversions that are advertised.
