Twitter Launches Tweet Button

Aug 12th, 20101 Comment

twitterTwitter, the micro-blogging platform, just announced on their blog the launching of the Tweet Button to make sharing tweets easy and simple.

According to the post, the button  ”lets you share links directly from the page you’re on. When you click on the Tweet Button, a Tweet box will appear – pre-populated with a shortened link that points to the item that you’re sharing.”

After posting to Twitter, a suggestion for accounts to follow may be shown based on the visited website. The suggestions may include the website Twitter account, author’s account, etc.

This feature was popularised by TweetMeme with their “Retweet Button”, which have grown to more than 750 million daily retweet button impressions. It is very interesting to note that Twitter and TweetMeme are partnering together to continue to grow the overall Twitter ecosystem.

Check out the short video from Twitter, and then get your Tweet Button and code to integrate on your website.

Update: We have successfully integrated the Tweet Button into our website as you can see above.
